President William Ruto will today address the nation at 1 pm from State House, Nairobi.

The upcoming address comes a day after the youth staged demonstrations in Nairobi’s CBD after announcing plans to occupy Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

It also comes after a revelation that nominated Attorney General Rebecca Miano had been omitted from the list of cabinet nominated forwarded to the National Assembly for vetting.

Only 10 nominees were fronted, causing confusion countrywide.

The 10 include;

1. Kithure Kindiki, EGH – Ministry of Interior and National Administration

2. Debra Fliongo Barasa – Ministry of Health

3. Alice Wahome, EGH – Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development

4. Julius Migos Ogamba – Ministry of Education

5. Roselinda Soipan Tuiya, EGH – Ministry of Defence

6. Andrew Mwihia Karanja – Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development

7. Aden Barre Duale, EGH – Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry

8. Eric Murugu Muiga – Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation

9. Davis Chirchir, EGH – Ministry of Roads and Transport

10. Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u – Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy

This came almost a week after Ruto named the first batch of eleven Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) nominees.

Out of the eleven, six were former CSs retained from his previous cabinet which he dissolved after pressure from youthful protesters.

“I have started the process of forming a new, broad-based cabinet to assist me in driving the urgently needed and irreversible transformation of our country. I hereby nominate the following first batch of 11 individuals for consideration and approval by the National Assembly for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General,” Ruto said at the time.
