Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, has opened up about his reasons for avoiding church services, revealing that he struggles with distractions that prevent him from focusing on his faith.
In a candid statement shared on his official X account on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Muhoozi explained that he intentionally stays away from the church due to the presence of beautiful women in the congregation, which he believes distracts him from his spiritual focus and that their presence serves as a temptation from Satan.
The Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) further stated that he resorted to praying in the barracks with soldiers, where he could fully devote himself to God and his spiritual practices.
“That’s why I intentionally avoid church services. They are too many beautiful women in church. It’s like Sitani concentrates them there for me. No, I pray in the barracks with my soldiers. There we can fully concentrate on God!,” Muhoozi said.
Muhoozi, in addition, elaborated on his understanding of the relationship between duty and devotion, explaining that a long time ago, he came across a notion that deeply impacted his thinking.
However, the outspoken general quickly acknowledged his own limitations, admitting that this level of devotion was something he could not manage.
“A long time ago, I read somewhere that being a soldier is the second-best thing a man can do. The best thing a man can do is be a priest i.e. dedicate his life to Almighty God completely. Forsake all women and focus only on God,” he added.
“When I heard about the women’s issue I knew I couldn’t manage.”

In the post shared on his official X account, he acknowledged the beauty of Kenyan ladies, adding that they all love him.
“Kenya is my second childhood home. I remember how pretty the girls were and how they all loved me. I also remember how ugly the boys were,” Muhoozi stated.
