There was a light moment at the Nakuru State Lodge when President William Ruto joined students to dance during the 63rd National Drama and Film Festival.
In a video seen by K24 Digital, the president is seen heartily dancing to a reggae beats alongside the students.
Earlier, Ruto had commended he students and festival describing it as a powerful platform for shaping national identity and highlighting social issues as well as nurturing talent.
“This festival is not just about entertainment. It’s a powerful platform for shaping national identity, highlighting social issues and nurturing talent,” he said.
He also congratulated all the participants, encouraging them to keep using their voices and creativity.
“I congratulate all the participants and encourage you to keep using your voices and creativity to tell the stories of our nation,” the president added.
The annual concert which is usually held at State House, usually marks the final of the Kenya National Schools Drama and Film Festival.
This year’s festival was marred with controversy following the Butere Girls’ play ‘Echoes of War’ which sparked debate after police teargassed the students as they were leaving the venue.
