KCSE 2024 Results Released: How To Check

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on Thursday, January 9, released the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KSCE) exam results at the Mitihani House in Nairobi after quite a considerable wait.

According to CS Ogamba, 962,512 sat for the national examinations that concluded on November 22, 2024.

According to Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) CEO David Njegere this represented a 7.19 per cent increase for the first time since 2020. This number is an increase from 899,453 students who sat for the same examination in 2023.

In his announcement, Ogamba announced that 17 subjects, including Maths, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, recorded improvements while 10 subjects, including English and Home Science, recorded drops in performance. 

How To Check

All the candidates can now check their results through the official KNEC portal; results.knec.ac.ke The candidates need to enter their index number and the name (s) as per the registration data for the 2024 KCSE examination.

Process

1: Visit the KNEC website

Students can access their results by visiting the official KNEC portal results.knec.ac.ke

2: Input your details

Candidates will be required to enter their index number and any one of the name (s) as per the registration data for the 2024 KCSE examination.

After entering the Index Number, the candidate will be prompted to submit the information. 

The 2024 KCSE results will be displayed on the screen if the details are correct. 

Any candidate with difficulties in accessing results is advised to call KNEC’s toll-free number 0800724900 or 0800721410.

3: KCSE Result Slip 2024/2025: Download & Print

Official result slips will be accessible through examination centres where the candidates sat for their exams.

Candidates, parents, and teachers are advised to carefully check the result slip for any discrepancies, such as incorrect names or grades. Any errors should be reported to KNEC within a month of the announcement of the results. 

4: NO SMS Code

Unlike in previous years, candidates will not be able to access their KCSE results through SMS code. This was after it was discontinued before the release of the 2023 results following complaints by parents and students over the years.

This development was announced by immediate former Education CS Ezekiel Machogu when he released the 2023 results in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu.
