A 45-year-old woman is cooling off her heels at Moyale Police Station after being caught with cocaine pellets hidden in her private parts during a routine security check.
According to a statement shared by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday, April 19, 2025, the woman was a passenger in a Marsabit-bound Toyota Probox that was stopped at the Odda roadblock in Moyale by a multi-agency team.
During the routine check, her fellow passengers complied with officers’ instructions, but the woman became uncooperative and threw a tantrum, refusing to be searched.
“At the Odda roadblock in Moyale, a multi-agency team nabbed a 45-year-old woman, a suspected drug peddler with a knack for hiding her illicit goods in the most private of places. The bust went down when the woman, a passenger in a Marsabit-bound Toyota Probox, decided to play hardball during a routine search,” DCI stated.
The authorities said her defiance raised red flags, prompting Moyale-based detectives to intervene. They escorted her to the Moyale Sub-County Referral Hospital for a closer look, where medical professionals helped in conducting a thorough examination.
Authorities discovered she was concealing eight pellets of cocaine, weighing 414 grams, in her private parts.
“While her fellow passengers complied with the officers’ checks, Caroline threw a tantrum, refusing to be searched. Her defiance raised red flags, and Moyale detectives swooped in, escorting her to Moyale Sub-County Referral Hospital for a closer look,” the statement read in part.
Adding;
“Lo and behold, with the help of medical professionals, authorities discovered she was concealing eight pellets of cocaine, weighing 414 grams, hidden in her private parts.”
The cocaine, which, according to the detectives, has an estimated street value of Ksh1.6 million, was seized and locked up as evidence.
The woman is expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
“The seized cocaine, with an estimated street value of Sh1,656,000, is now safely locked as exhibit, while the woman cools her heels at Moyale Police Station, awaiting her day in court,” the authorities said.
