Kenyan socialite Risper Faith has urged her fans to make it a priority to call their parents frequently while they are still alive after she discovered that her late father, who passed away in 2023, now has his phone line officially disconnected.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, April 20, 2025, where she attached a screenshot of the notification she received after attempting to call the number, Risper shared that this realisation had left her heart feeling heavy and insisted that she wished she could have had the chance to speak with her father one more time.

“Safaricom says the number is no longer in service. Some days, the weight of missing you is heavier than others,” she posted.

Risper further added that life has not stopped moving since her father’s death and lamented that, despite that, a part of her has remained still, unwilling to accept that her father had passed away.

She went on to pray for her father’s soul, even saying that she hoped he was proud of her wherever he was because she carries his spirit everywhere and in everything she puts her efforts into.

“Life keeps moving, but a part of me is still standing next to you. I hope you’re proud of me, Dada. I carry you in everything I do. If you have your parents, call them,” she concluded.

Fateful day

Earlier in March 2025, Risper came out to share that she was born into a family of five siblings and disclosed that her father’s death had occurred exactly as the year 2023 was almost coming to a close.

She reflected on the fateful day he died, saying she was at work when she received a call notifying her that her father had suddenly fallen ill.

Risper shared that she never started overthinking that the illness could have escalated into something that could lead him to die, adding that she had a bad feeling about the illness overall.

“We all had deep attachments to our father, and we want to open up about how we’ve been walking through this journey. I was at work when I got the call. I was in town, and they told me Dad was sick. At first, I didn’t think much of it. But you know how some phone calls just give you a bad feeling? Like there’s more to it than what they’re saying? That’s how I felt. Then we were told to go home immediately.”

Further, she shared that her colleague was the one who had picked up the phone from a relative who informed them about their father’s sudden illness, with the colleague, Carol, instantly changing her expression on receiving the news, further setting her into suspense.

“She said they tried to ask for clear information on the exact nature of the illness that had struck their father, but nothing clear was passed on to them. Instead, the person who had called insisted that they hurry home to check how things were.”

“I was working with Carol at the time, and she was the one answering calls. Then I noticed she looked disturbed. I stepped away to ask her what was wrong. But they weren’t clear about what was happening. I kept asking what kind of illness he had, but they were evasive, just telling me to come home. That moment felt like the beginning of a difficult journey.”
