Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) co-founder Rev. Kathy Kiuna has remembered her hubby, the late Bishop Allan Kiuna, in a moving Instagram post nine months after his untimely passing.

In the post shared on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the woman of God, who has since taken up the role of their church’s main bishop, interceded for his soul in tender words, saying it felt just like yesterday when she saw him alive.

“Seems like yesterday. What a throwback,” she shared.

Kathy also shared a TBT photo of them during the early days of their marriage, in which they looked doting and exuded lovey-dovey vibes as they hugged each other warmly.

The photo featured a young Kathy clad in a white dress and a wig, embracing Kiuna by the side, while he wrapped his arm around her waist as they both posed with huge smiles.

In her tribute, Kathy further shared that a photo like that may look beautiful to people who were never as close to Bishop Kiuna as she was and said it evoked tender memories of when their love affair was still at its peak.

In addition, she hailed him as a great man who had lived a beautiful life and shared how dearly she misses him, given that nearly a year has passed since he succumbed to cancer.

Kathy also insisted that she would ensure his legacy lives on, leaving her fans showering her with comfort messages and joining her in interceding for Bishop Kiuna’s soul.

“A pic can be as beautiful to one person, but to another it holds so many memories. It reminds me of every event of that day. Great man who lived. I truly miss him. His legacy continues,” she shared.

The bishop, who recently returned from Australia, where her daughter Stephanie is married, paired the post with the soulful gospel worship song ‘Iba’ by Nathaniel Bassey featuring Dunsin Oyekan and Dasola Akinbule, making the post even more emotional.

Hubby’s death

Bishop Allan Kiuna, who was the main founder and senior pastor of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC), died on July 9, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma, a rare type of blood cancer.

His death, announced by his family and church leadership, marked the end of a remarkable life that helped redefine the face of urban evangelical Christianity in Kenya.

Bishop Kiuna died at a Nairobi hospital, surrounded by close family members, at the age of 58.

The news of his passing triggered an outpouring of grief across the country, with political leaders, fellow clergy, and thousands of followers mourning a man they described as bold, visionary, and full of faith.

Tributes flooded social media for days, with many remembering the bishop for his fiery preaching style, his unapologetic emphasis on prosperity, and the deep love he showed his wife, Rev Kathy Kiuna, with whom he led the church.

Bishop Kiuna publicly revealed in 2023 that he had been battling cancer, which he had been diagnosed with in mid-2018.

In a moving testimony, he shared how he had spent over a year in the United States undergoing treatment, which cost nearly Ksh390 million.

Despite the toll the disease took on his health, he returned to Kenya and continued ministering, declaring healing and hope even as his condition worsened.

He founded Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) in the late 1990s with Kathy, and together they built it into one of Kenya’s largest and most influential Pentecostal churches. Under his leadership, JCC grew into a megachurch with multiple campuses, a television ministry, and a loyal global following.

He is survived by his wife, three children, and thousands of spiritual sons and daughters across the world.

His funeral, held at JCC Parklands, was attended by dignitaries, fellow pastors, celebrities, and ordinary Kenyans, all gathered to honour a man many regarded as a giant of faith.
