Atlanta rapper Yung L.A., best known for his 2008 hit single “Ain’t I,” recently tearfully broke down in an interview with Real Life Productions, revealing the suffocating pressure of having others depending on him. Yung L.A., born Leland Austin, emerged in the late 2000s on T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records. His first single, “Ain’t I,” featuring Young Dro and T.I., made him an instant star, peaking at No. 47 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and being certified platinum. His second single, “Futuristic Love” did not perform as well, and his career began to stagnate. Label issues, industry politics, and personal issues made him lose mainstream momentum, and he was unable to reclaim his spot in the competitive hip-hop landscape.
