The family of Naomi Chebet, who was brutally murdered in Nairobi’s Kangemi area, four weeks ago, has now called on security forces to intervene and arrest the person of interest in her murder case.
The appeal comes weeks after the 31-year-old was killed on March 22, 2025, and her lifeless body was left on her sofa seat before the perpetrator, Samuel Njoroge, who is also believed to be her husband, fled the scene.
Neighbours who spoke to the media revealed that Njoroge was seen fleeing the crime scene dressed in outfits that obscured his identity after the incident.
Briefly after her brutal murder, Njoroge took to his official Facebook page to post a cold-hearted and mean confession message detailing the reason for murder.

Led by the mother, the family described the harrowing experience their daughter went through before her unfortunate demise.
Addressing the media in a disheartened tone, the mother of the deceased, Esther Koech, revealed that her daughter’s marriage to Njoroge was repeatedly ensnared in a cycle of persistent domestic violence.
She detailed that the person of interest in the case routinely beat up their daughter and would sometimes strangle her.
“Huyo mtu alikua anapiga Naomi sana, tulikua tunapigiwa simu jioni, vita, yaani anampiga vibaya anamnyonga, hadi msichana alikua anatuambia huyo mtu ni mnyama,” Esther said.
As if that were not enough, the family says Njoroge constantly threatened to unalive their daughter and grandchildren.
Esther went on to state that the person of interest, who has since evaded arrest, has been spotted in Solai disguised as a Muslim.
“Huyo mtu alikua anatishia mama yao na pia alikua anatishia watoto; saizi tunaskia anavaa kiislamu na barakoa,” Esther added.
The deceased’s brother, on his part, recounted finding his dead sister lying on the sofa, with a swollen eye and strangle marks on her neck.
“Bado nilimwona alikua amelala kwa kiti na bwana yake hayuko. Kufungua blanketi nikakuta sasa amefura side ya macho na kwa shingo alikua amenyongwa imefura,” the deceased’s brother Harson Koech said.
Koech now wants authorities to heighten operations and arrest Njoroge, stating that they feel threatened.
“Sisi tungependa serikali na pia wananchi watusaidie kupata huyu mtu; ju hapa nyumbani hatuna usalama, anajua nyumbani ni wapi,” he added.
Police Spokesperson Michael Muchiri stated that the incident had been reported at Kabete Police Station, and officers traced the husband’s devices to Ruaraka.
He, however, stated that Njoroge has been dodging arrests, calling on Kenyans to alert police when they spot him.
