Former IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati is critically ill and has been admitted to a hospital in Nairobi.
Reportedly, Mr Chebukati has been undergoing treatment for nearly a week and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Medical professionals are closely monitoring his condition, though the exact details of his illness remain undisclosed.
Chebukati had been receiving treatment at home before his health deteriorated, prompting his transfer to the hospital. His family remains hopeful as he continues to receive medical care.
Chebukati is best known for his role as the IEBC chair, a position he held for six years before retiring in January 2023.
And he oversaw Kenya’s 2017 and 2022 General Elections.
His hospitalization has drawn attention from political leaders and the public, with many expressing their well wishes and hopes for his recovery.
