Vocal preacher Prophet Victor Kanyari has opened up about how much he used to earn from the controversial ‘Mbegu ya 310’ call to his followers to send money in exchange for blessings and miracles.

In a candid interview, Kanyari revealed he would receive between KSh700,000 and KSh1 million daily from the offerings, with thousands of Kenyans sending in the Ksh310 seed after he promised them divine favour and a miracle in return.

“Kwa siku watu walikuwa wanatuma sadaka kama seven hundred thousand to one million per day,”he revealed.

The Salvation Healing Ministry church founder, who was widely criticised for the initiative nearly a decade ago, defended his actions, insisting there was nothing wrong with asking for KSh310 compared to what other churches request from followers.

I do not think kuna kitu yengine kubwa hapo kwa sababu kutuma shilingi mia tatu na shilingi kumi; hakuna kanisa haiitishi sadaka kunayengine inaishisha shilingi elfu saba, elfu kumi kunawengine wanaitishwa mashamba, mbuzi, kondoo, lakini mimi nilikuwa naitisha 310,” he stated.

In addition, the self-proclaimed prophet maintained that the ‘Mbegu ya 310′ initiative was inspired by God and said the overwhelming response from followers was proof of divine instruction.

Kanyari on philanthropy

Kanyari questioned why he should not be able to bless people today using the same KSh310 seed he asked for in the past, saying he still believes in standing with people just as he did then.

310 idea

While preaching at his church in January 2024, Kanyari admitted that the ‘Mbegu ya 310’ initiative was not only about miracles but also a way to escape poverty.

However, he maintained that he still performed miracles, claiming to have healed people and lifted others out of poverty through prayer.

Ilikuwa ya kuponya watu magonjwa,” he added.

The preacher rose to national fame through televised sermons and healing sessions, but his ministry came under fire following an investigative exposé that questioned the authenticity of his miracles and fundraising methods.
