Tanzanian singer Nandy has revealed that she was generously gifted a huge cash bundle by a Kenyan couple during her performance at their wedding.
Taking to her Insta stories, the multitalented singer shared a video of how the groom presented her with the large cash bundle while she was on stage performing.
At one point, while carefully packing the KSh 1,000 bundles of notes, Nandy cheekily asked her fans to invite her to more of such lavish weddings.
“Imagine kutuzwa Mil 50 na maharusi. For more bookings like this, please DM me,” she said.
The wedding was attended by close friends and family, Kenya’s public figures, such as media personality Amina Abdi Rabar, social media influencer Amber Ray, and Tanzanian singers Nandy and Mbosso, among other guests.
The couple’s decision to gift Nandy in such a significant way left a lasting impression on everyone present, further solidifying their place in the memories of all who were lucky enough to be part of the celebration.
Amber on lavish weddings
In February 2025, Amber Ray urged Kenyan celebrities to stop having cheap weddings and imitate Hamisa Mobetto.
Speaking in a video posted on her Instagram account, while comparing it to weddings in Kenya, the mother of two said that she is happy to see the model winning.
“Have you guys seen how many gowns huyo msichana amevaa? Si kwa ubaya, but let us compare our Kenyan weddings, mmeona set up vile imefanywa? I am so happy to see a girl win,” Amber said.
She also jokingly called out those who prefer low-budget weddings, saying Hamisa’s wedding has raised the expectations.
“Hamisa ametuonyesha wenye mnapenda kufanya events za low budget; I hope mmejionea,” she said.
She admitted that the lavish union has made her reconsider her wedding plans, pointing out that she was supposed to walk down the aisle in 2025 and now feels the need to go back to the drawing board.
Amber, who disclosed that she spent the whole night glued to the screen, watching every detail of Hamisa’s white wedding unfold, could not hide her amazement at the level of luxury and elegance displayed throughout the ceremony.
“Jana usiku kazi ilikuwa kuwatch wedding ya Hamisa Mobetto; the bar has been set, yaani standards zimewekwa juu.
“Nilikua nimepanga kufanya harusi yangu this year, lakini wacha niende tena kwenye drawing board coz the bar has been set,” she said in a video on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Marvelled at the multiple stunning gowns worn by the Bongo star, the breathtaking decor, and the flawless execution of the entire event, she said that the lavish ceremony had set a new standard.
