Kibet Bull Announces His Release

The developments came moments after the National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the release of four abducted Kenyans

Cartoonist Gideon Kibet, popularly known as ‘Kibet Bull’ has announced that he has been released. The visual artist took to his X account to confirm his release from captivity after being abducted by individuals suspected to be state agents.

In his first post since December 2024, he revealed that he was dropped off in Luanda Town, Vihiga County around 3-4 AM on Monday, January 6.

“They dropped me in Luanda Vihiga at 3-4 AM Leo (today). Sikuwa najua (I didn’t know) where to enter or book a room,” he wrote in part.

“Kidogo form ya (Gradually the plan for) Disco Matanga came in, danced mpaka (until) 6AM when I went to book a ticket.”

James Smart, Managing Editor of the Nation Media Group (NMG) revealed on his X account that the “Family has received call from KIBET in the last few minutes, says he is on his way home.”

The developments came moments after the National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the release of four abducted Kenyans; Billy Mwangi and Peter Muteti as well as Bernard Kavuli and Kibet’s brother, Ronny Kiplangat.
