Lucy Wamaitha, a 32-year-old woman, was found brutally murdered after going on a work trip with her boss. Her mother has shared chilling details of Lucy’s fears before her disappearance.

Months before she vanished, Lucy confided in her mother that she feared being set up by someone at work. In October 2024, she asked her mother to pray for her, sensing something was wrong. Her fears became a reality when she went missing on January 16, 2025.

Lucy had traveled to Embu with her boss for work but never returned home. He later claimed that they returned together and that he dropped her off in Thika. However, investigations revealed that her phone went off while she was still in Embu, casting doubt on his story.

Reports indicate that Lucy’s boss had a romantic interest in her. According to a friend, he had previously caused a scene at a party when he saw her dancing with another man. This raises concerns about his role in her disappearance and murder.

Days after she was reported missing, a mutilated body was found in Embu. The corpse was in a horrific state—dismembered, with body parts missing. The remains had been dumped in a secluded area, making identification impossible without forensic testing. The brutality of the killing left investigators and locals shocked.

Further investigations revealed that Lucy’s belongings, including her handbag and ID, were found in a nearby thicket, raising more suspicions about what really happened. Her mother, who had been desperately searching for answers, was asked to provide a DNA sample. On March 21, 2025, the results confirmed that the body belonged to Lucy.

Lucy’s boss, the last person seen with her, has since been arrested and is in police custody. Authorities are also looking into his past, as unconfirmed reports suggest he had a history of aggressive behavior toward women. He is expected to face charges in court.

Her mother is now seeking justice, hoping that those responsible for her brutal death will be held accountable.

Her murder has sparked outrage across the country, with many Kenyans demanding action against rising cases of femicide.
