Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has said William Ruto is not fit to hold the office of the President of Kenya.

Muturi says Ruto is a man with a double personality, and this kind of man, according to the former attorney general, is not fit to lead the country.

“William Ruto is a person with two personalities. The William Ruto that presents himself to the public is completely different from the one that sits behind in the office and crafts stuff.

“That kind of person is very dangerous, and I think William Ruto is unfit to hold the position of the President of the Republic of Kenya. I have sadly come to that conclusion, and I have no bitterness because it is my own assessment,” Muturi said during a morning talk show with a local TV channel on April 4, 2025.

Muturi made the comment after he was relieved of his cabinet duties. In his place, President Ruto nominated Mbeere North Member of Parliament (MP) Geoffrey Ruku as his successor.

No bad blood

Muturi said he has no problem with Ruku replacing him.

“I have no problem with Geoffrey Ruku; I am the one who has brought him up. He started quite early, immediately after university, in 2002. He has run for councillor; since then, I have known him,” he disclosed.

“I do not have a problem with Ruku becoming the CS; it is okay, and for me, this position should not be personalised, and for me, my interest is to just serve the people,” he stated.

Ruku is yet to be vetted and possibly cleared to take up his new role as a CS.
