Trade Cabinet Secretary nominee Salim Mvurya has placed his net worth at Ksh158 million.
Appearing before the Committee on Appointments on Saturday, August 3, 2024, Mvurya told MPs that his wealth appreciated by Ksh38 million.
During the previous vetting period for the position of Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Mining and Blue Economy, he was worth Ksh120 million.
How his net worth appreciated
Salim Mvurya informed the members of the Committee on Appointments that his wealth increased by Ksh38 million to hit Ksh158 million after completing some of his property.
However, Mvurya did not mention the specific property he completed within 21 months he was in charge at the Ministry of Mining and Blue Economy.
My net worth is Ksh158 million. It was Ksh120 million last time I faced the committee,” Mvurya responded to the question raised by Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Masika Wetang’ula.
“The value of some property were completed,” he further responded on how the amassed the additional Ksh38 million in 21 months.
