Cape Media Limited, the parent company of TV47 and Radio 47, has unveiled Africa’s first fully integrated All-IP Broadcasting Studios, redefining industry standards. 

According to a press release obtained by Viral Tea, the state-of-the-art facility leverages advanced IP-based technology to maximize efficiency, flexibility, and seamless integration across radio, television, and digital platforms.

Built on a 100 per cent IP infrastructure, the studios eliminate traditional broadcasting constraints, enabling flawless synchronization across multiple production environments.

This groundbreaking setup boosts operational efficiency, streamlines workflows, and ensures seamless content delivery—further strengthening Cape Media’s commitment to innovation.

Moreover, this technological advancement unlocks new opportunities for advertisers. The ultra-modern studio enables brands to harness superior audio clarity, interactive programming, and digital integration to enhance audience engagement.

Speaking at the launch event, Mwenda Njoka, CEO of Cape Media Ltd, emphasized the organization’s commitment to digital transformation, terming the introduction of the ultra-modern studio as a significant milestone for Cape Media. 

“It enhances our ability to deliver high-quality content while providing advertisers with a superior engagement platform. This investment affirms our vision for the future of digital broadcasting,” stated Njoka.

Weighing in, Geoffrey Mung’ou, Head of Radio at Cape Media Ltd, highlighted the strategic importance of this advancement. He stated, “Our new state-of-the-art studio underscores our commitment to delivering premium radio content.”

“With cutting-edge technology at our disposal, we can provide an unparalleled listening experience that keeps our audience engaged and entertained,” he added.

The Cape Media Board of Directors echoed this sentiment, describing the launch of the world-class studio as aligning with the media house’s vision to be a leader in the broadcasting industry.

The board expressed that the investment enables Cape Media to meet the highest standards of content production and expand its reach to a broader audience.

In the Q4 2024 IPSOS Report, Radio 47 was ranked third among Kenya’s top five national Swahili stations. In less than two years, it has risen to prominence.

As it approaches its second anniversary in March 2025, this strategic investment strengthens its reach and impact. It delivers superior sound quality, seamless live broadcasts, and an immersive multimedia experience across multiple platforms.

The launch event brought together top media personalities, industry leaders, and government representatives, all celebrating this groundbreaking milestone in Kenya’s broadcasting landscape.
