Radio Jambo’s popular presenter, Lion Deh, who hosts the MbusiinaLion show, recently shared the heartbreaking story of losing his months-old son.
The tragic incident unfolded when his young son fell from the living room sofa while playing.
And the boy suffered a serious head injury.
Lion quickly rushed his son to the nearest hospital, where doctors confirmed the worst.
A CT scan showed internal bleeding in the boy’s brain.
The situation was urgent, and the doctors acted fast, performing a three-hour surgery. Initially, they believed the operation had been a success.
Lion recalled, “He underwent a three-hour surgery, which was initially deemed successful.”
However, despite the surgery, his son’s condition took a turn for the worse.
The swelling in his brain became more severe, and he was moved to the ICU for close monitoring.
Lion explained, “Because of the nature of the injury, his brain began to swell. He was kept in the ICU, with doctors hoping the swelling would subside.”
Sadly, the swelling did not subside.
The injury was too severe for his little body to handle, and Lion’s son was declared clinically brain-dead.
Lion shared, “Unfortunately, the injury was too severe, and he was declared clinically brain-dead. His life was being supported by machines.”
In his emotional interview with Mpasho, Lion expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support from friends, fans, and well-wishers. “Thank you for your comforting messages and prayers as my family and I try to come to terms with God’s will,” he said.
“We’re holding onto the love and strength of those around us.”
