Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has requested popular social media personality Bradley Marongo, also known as Gen Z Goliath, to accompany him to the burial of Malava MP Malulu Injendi.
In a video shared by Gospel singer Daddy Owen on his official X account, on Sunday, March 2, 2025, when the three of them were having a sideline chat at the Bahati’s Big Day event, Salasya extended an invitation to Marongo, stating that he will be travelling to Kakamega County to attend the funeral.
The vocal MP also promised to facilitate Marongo’s travel by arranging a flight for him.
Salasya, known for his occasional light-hearted comments, humorously emphasized the need for Marongo to accompany him for protection during the event.
“I will be in Kakamega on Tuesday tuko na matanga ya Malulu Injendi, by the way, I want you to come to that funeral, I will take a flight for you, call me you will take me, so that day you will walk beside me like a bodyguard, “Salasya requested.
Malulu’s burial
The late MP Injendi’s funeral cortège arrived in Malava for a church service at St. Teresa Parish Catholic Church on March 2, ahead of his burial on March 4, 2025.
According to the funeral arrangements for MP Injendi, on March 3, political leaders will have the opportunity to offer their condolence messages. However, during the burial on March 4, only President William Ruto, family members, and church representatives will be permitted to speak, as the family has emphasized their desire to keep the event non-political.
The Malava MP, passed away on February 17, 2025, at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, following a short illness. Tragically, his elder brother, Samuel Injendi, a retired prison officer aged 80, died just a day earlier on February 16 at Kakamega County General Hospital.
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah in a statement shared via his official X account stated that Malulu’s dedication to serving Malava and his unwavering commitment to uplifting his constituents were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working alongside him in Parliament.
