Public transport operator Super Metro has resumed operations following a three-day suspension imposed on the SACCO by the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB) on Monday, April 14, 2025.
In a statement on Thursday, April 17, 2025, Super Metro indicated that their buses were back on the road after fulfilling all compliance requirements by NTSA and TLAB.
“Super Metro Limited is thrilled to announce that we have successfully met and surpassed all compliance requirements set by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB). Following a thorough review, we have been officially cleared to resume operations, effective today,” a statement from the SACCO reads.
Back on the road
“Our team has worked tirelessly over the past three days to address all directives, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory adherence. We are excited to once again serve the people of Kenya, providing safe and efficient transport solutions to communities across the region.”
The transport operator extended their sympathy to a legion of their fans who had been forced to seek alternative means to and from their various destinations in and out of Nairobi City.
“Super Metro Limited extends its gratitude to our customers, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities for their patience and support during this period. We are committed to maintaining full compliance and delivering exceptional service as we get back on the roads,” the statement read in part.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary suspension and look forward to welcoming you aboard our buses starting today (Thursday, April 17, 2025).”

“It is hereby ordered that the appellant (Super Metro Sacco) shall immediately disengage 269 drivers as per the list marked ‘SPM7’ annexed to the respondent’s (NTSA) replying affidavit sworn on April 10, 2025,” the ruling read.
“That in the interim, pending compliance with orders 1-5 herein, the respondent’s directive (NTSA/C/RT/010/2VOL.
