Kenyan singer Willy Paul has revealed that he parted with a staggering Ksh38 million to secure a collaboration with Congolese music sensation Innos B.
In an Instagram post on Friday, April 25, 2025, Willy Paul disclosed that he paid the hefty sum, equivalent to 300,000 USD, just to obtain a single verse from the celebrated artiste, calling it the most costly collaboration he has ever made.
“Probably the most expensive collaboration I’ve paid for. I had to pay my bro, Official Innos B, 300,000 dollars to get him to do a verse,” he posted.
Willy Paul, whose collaboration with the singer is a song titled ‘Bingiri’, further touted how acclaimed Innos B is, even reminding his fans that he did one of the most viral collaborations with Tanzanian Bongo Flava icon Diamond Platnumz for the song ‘Yope’, which is still topping charts.
He went on to add that his collaboration with Innos B meant that they were on the verge of setting the Kenyan music scene on fire, just like Innos’s collaboration with Diamond did to the Tanzanian music scene.
“Don’t forget he gave us ‘Yope’ with Diamond. We’re taking over now—Kenya versus Congo,” he posted.
New Song
The song ‘Bingiri’ by the ‘I Do’ crooner is yet to be released, and Willy Paul is continuing to drum up excitement for its debut.
Just two days ago, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, he posted the cover art of the song, featuring two individuals: one being himself and the other obscured in a silhouette, asking his fans to guess the identity of the guest artist.
He continued to build anticipation, stating that the track would make waves globally upon release and encouraged his followers to flood the comments section with their guesses on who the featured artiste could be.
“About to take over the world. I just need to see in the comment section how many are with me,” he shared.
International Singer
A week earlier, Willy Paul, who had been at the apex of promoting his latest single, ‘Your Body’, reposted a video of Size 8 and her hubby, DJ Moh, who had tagged him in a clip they had recorded from South Africa after finding a curio shop there playing his 2017 hit ‘I Do.’
In the clip, the couple was seen moving inside the shop that was selling various attire, including hats and bangles, and checking to confirm whether they had heard right that the song was Willy Paul’s ‘I Do’.
On realising that it was truly it, Size 8 started dancing inside the shop while DJ Moh continued recording her, while they insisted that netizens should not think that they had requested for the song to be played but that they had just coincidentally found it playing.
“And it’s not like we have requested it; we just found it playing. Wow, that is just so moving. That is a Kenyan artist—wow, Willy Paul, congratulations,” Size 8 said.
The couple then revealed that they were mesmerised to find that Willy Paul is renowned and is listened to even in far places like South Africa and further shared that it was far more interesting because they were not even in the big cities but in a remote town called Cape Point.
“And see where we are – Cape Point. That’s a wonder. Music has no boundaries. This is so far where we are,” DJ Moh added.
